Deaffest receives UK Film Council funding
The UK Film Council announced the seven recipients of their new Film Festival Fund this week, and Wolverhampton’s Deaffest has been awarded £50,000 to develop the festival over the next three years. The Fund has been set up by the UK Film Council to enhance the work of key UK film festivals and give people the opportunity to learn about film and engage with filmmakers. We welcome submission of films made at any time in the past as well as recent productions. However,
we are unlikely to show films that have been exhibited previously at Deaffest or at Deaf Film and
Television Festivals held in Wolverhampton.There should be a significant Deaf involvement in the
production. You will be asked to describe this in your submission form.
